Fallacy Index

The names we use, and the files that carry them. A tag that does not point at a sentence is a mood.

Equivocation

One word, two referents, the violent one retired when challenged. Intifada. Shorthand. Some people.

Files · /omar /tlaib /harris /mamdani

False equivalence

A state with courts and a militia that targets civilians, listed as one noun. The list is the trick.

Files · /omar

Manufactured ethos

A rank, a battlefield, a degree, a firm the speaker was not at. Authority borrowed from a life that did not happen.

Files · /walz /biden /santos · not opened

Holocaust appropriation

Never again, concentration camp, genocide — taken off the Shoah and bolted to a policy fight. The museums have already answered.

Files · /aoc

Moral inversion

The day of a massacre redescribed, or the injured renamed as the cause. The killer and the killed exchange captions.

Files · /elsayed

Motte and bailey

The bailey is the sentence that did the work. The motte is the smaller claim offered when challenged. The walk-back does not edit the bailey.

Quote-mining

A clause lifted so the order of the verbs, or the room, disappears. The fog sentence can be real and still be filed for what it did.

Files · /pelosi

Borrowed authority

A tape, a title, a decade of repetition offered as if duration were a premise.

Files · /sanders

Invention

A sentence whose referent is not in the record. The fireable offense. Anger is allowed. This is not.
